Steve Willmot, LPC, Joins Laurel Behavioral Health
BRADFORD & TIOGA COUNTY, PA – Steve Willmot, licensed professional counselor (LPC), has joined Laurel Behavioral Health (LBH). He is accepting new patients of all ages at the Troy and Towanda Laurel Health Centers in Bradford County, PA. He also sees patients at the Laurel Behavioral Health outpatient office in Tioga County, PA, located within the Laurel Health & Wellness Center in Mansfield, PA.
Willmot brings over 30 years of comprehensive mental health experience to the team. His approach to care focuses on connecting with people around what they find meaningful, where they struggle, how they cope, and where they thrive.
He specializes in treating a wide array of mental and behavioral health conditions through professional counseling and behavioral therapy.
“Many aspects of our mental health are tied to our relationships with others, ourselves, and the world around us. Conditions like anxiety, depression, and grief can be expressions of the challenges we face in those relationships,” Willmot shares. “One of the things I enjoy most about working in this field is listening to my patients’ stories and working with them to uncover what makes them tick, how they manage their day-to-day life, and how they deal with their past. Helping patients dig deeper to become the empowered authors of their own stories is very rewarding.”
Prior to joining Laurel Health, he provided mental health services with ThriveWorks, Bradford County Human Services, Northern Tier Counseling, and Concern Professional Services.
“I am originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, and in my early teens, my family came to this region on a camping and canoeing trip. Something about this area has always stuck with me,” he adds. “Working with Laurel Health is a great fit as I knew I wanted to deliver professional, quality care in the rural northern tier.”
Willmot holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Pennsylvania State University at University Park in State College, PA, a Master of Science in Counseling & Psychology from Troy University in Dothan, AL, a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, and a Master of Education in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, walking, hiking, playing guitar, home renovation, and writing.
Steve Willmot, LPC, is accepting new patients at the Troy Laurel Health Center at 45 Mud Creek Rd. in Troy, PA, the Towanda Laurel Health Center at 410 Main St. in Towanda, PA, and the Laurel Behavioral Health outpatient office at the Laurel Health & Wellness Center in Mansfield, PA.
